Grady “Pete” Chandler, Jr.

Ringgold, LA – Funeral services for Grady “Pete” Chandler, Jr., 89 will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel in Ringgold, LA. Graveside service will follow at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Officiating the services will be Bro. Don Woodard. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Grady “Pete” Chandler, Jr. was born on February 6, 1923 to Grady and Lucille Chandler. He passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in Minden, LA after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard Chandler. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Stewart Chandler; his daughters, Judy Holmes and her husband Bill of Arcadia, LA, Janie Glotzback and her husband Lee of Inverness, FL, and Ginger Stahl and her fiance Wayne Cooper of Heflin, LA; and his son, Lester Chandler and his wife Ginger of Fryeburg, LA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Melinda Kidd and her husband Scott, and Hunter Chandler; and great grandchildren, Lauren Warren and her husband Derek and Cody Kidd and his wife Angie; his sister, Bobbie Ray of Phoenix, AZ; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Grady “Pete” Chandler, Jr. retired from the LA Army Ammunition Plant after 40 years of service. With a deep love for deer hunting, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved having and caring for his summer garden. Pallbearers will be Scott Kidd, Cody Kidd, Derek Warren, Joe Corley, Cody Corley and Stewart Beatty. A special friend, Mr. Lester Hood, will service as honorary pallbearer along with Hunter Chandler and Allen Ray Chandler. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Phillips and his staff at Minden Medical Center Staff, and his sitters Tia Bradley and Angie Moore for loving and caring for him during this illness.
